JetBlue Adds Daytime New York To London Flight

There will be some changes to its London service as of the summer of 2023, which will see the carrier operate its first east-west daily flight.

JetBlue gets additional London Heathrow slot pair

The carrier picked up an additional pair of slots for London Heathrow, which will allow them to add a new daytime flight from there to the US. As of March 25, 2023, there will be a New York JFK to London airport service.

People feel strongly about daytime flights.

It is possible that the airline is launching this flight because it is the only additional slot that it can get, rather than because it was looking for a daytime flight like this.

JetBlue adjusting overall London schedule

The airline isn't increasing its service to London despite securing an additional slot.

JetBlue had a plan prior to this announcement.

• Operate three daily flights between New York and London, with one being to Heathrow, and two being to Gatwick
• Operate two daily flights between Boston and London, with one being to Heathrow, and one being to Gatwick

One of the two planned daily New York to London Gatwick flights is being dropped.

There is a pretty clear reason for the airline. The airline wants to get as many slots in London as possible. I don't know if it's a temporary or permanent slot.

The airline doesn't have enough aircraft to operate all this service so it's dropping a second daily flight from New York to London. As of the summer of 2023, New York to Paris flights will be launched by JetBlue, so there will be some upcoming deliveries for that.

Changes to its London flight schedule will take place in the summer of 2020. There will be changes to the New York service that will result in a total of five daily flights to London. The airline will fly to Heathrow twice a day. Thanks to some new slots at the airport, the airline was able to pick up some passengers.
