The signing of Badiashile is a seven and a half year contract.

Sky Sports News reported in December that the west London club were in advanced talks over a deal for the 21-year-old France international.

The profile of Badiashile, one of the best young left-footed centre-backs in Europe, has been the subject of interest from the Blues.

I'm very pleased to be here. Badiashile is excited to begin playing for the club.

I am excited to start playing in the best league in the world.

After completing his medical on Monday, Badiashile became the second signing of the January transfer window. On Saturday, the Blues gave a medical to the 18-year-oldSantos.

The strategy of signing talented young players has been pursued by the club since Todd Boehly took control. Six people have joined the club.

In a joint statement, chairman Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali said they were delighted to welcome the new player to the club.

He is an excellent young player who has quickly established a strong reputation for himself and has a lot of experience for his young age. He will be a big part of our team in the future.

Badiashile made 135 appearances for his hometown club after making his Monaco debut at the age of 17. The 6ft 4in defender made his full international debut for France in September 2022.

With a win over Manchester City on Thursday night, the Blues could move up to seventh in the table, despite having just one win in seven games so far this season.

On Sunday, Badiashile's first chance to play could be in the FA Cup, where he could play against Manchester City, and on January 12th, when he could play in a west London derby.

Could Benoit Badiashile be on his way to Chelsea?
French Football expert Jonathan Johnson shares his thoughts on Benoit Badiashile

Jonathan Johnson is a french football expert.

He is a very good player. Someone who will become a top defender in the future. I don't think he's as prepared as some of the players we've seen come from France to play in the English top flight.

I don't think he's close to being at the level of some of the other players. Kurt Zouma was a polished version of him when he was in the premier league. He has the attributes to succeed, even though he needs time to develop.

His build makes him good in the air and he reads the ball very well. I think he would be a good fit for the premier league.

Carra: Chelsea are trying to buy every player in the world

Jamie Carragher is a Sky Sports commentator.

Every time I pick up a paper, I see someone being signed by the team.

They are going for every player in the world. When Roman Abramovich first came in, I thought it might be the end of the club, but it seems like that's not the case anymore. It doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

"It looks like they're trying to throw their money around to try and get in the best players to the club, which is what they've done before." It seems like Todd Boehly is scouting the air for players and I expect them to be busy.
