After making a teary goodbye at Elland Road, Klich is moving to a Major League Soccer club in the USA.
The Whites agreed to cancel the player's contract in order to facilitate the deal with DC United, according to reports.
After the 2-2 draw with West Ham, Klich received a guard of honor from his team mates.
His substitute appearance was the 199th of his time at the club.
He was an important part of the squad that returned the club to the top-flight after 16 years in the second tier.
In a statement after Wednesday's game, Klich thanked the club, his team-mates and supporters for his time with them, calling it "a dream".
I wish I could stay, but I don't like being on the bench and I want to play a lot in the future. I will always remember my time in Yorkshire.
Jesse Marsch, who was also wearing a T-shirt with Klich's picture on it, said that the decision was not a black and white one. It is a chance for him to try something new and for his family to be stable.
Four or five weeks have passed since we last had a discussion. Despite the T-shirts, it is still not finalized.
It's going to be difficult to lose him. We don't know if it's the right decision, but we wish him well.
He has accomplished something with us as a team. It is a decision made by a group of people. This is done from different levels.
He has been offered a longer contract somewhere else. I didn't promise him that he would play as much as he would over there, but he would have. The discussion was open and constructive.
Marsch said he would find a solution for him from the players in the squad.
He said that Sam Greenwood could be an option. A lot of young guys have the ability to step in.
In the summer, the club signed five new players.
