The duration of the solar eclipse in the U.S. is expected to be double that of The Great American Eclipse.

The total solar eclipse in August of last year was watched by 20 million people from Oregon to South Carolina, but the total solar eclipse in August of next year will be watched by millions more.

There are 32 million people living in the US section of the path. In states such as Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, there are many metro areas. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are just a short distance from the path of totality.

Hotels and camping spots sold out way in advance of the eclipse in the path of totality, but also in nearby spots.

The next North American Solar Eclipse will take place in some top destinations.

The co-owners of Great American Eclipse are going to travel to Texas for the next solar eclipse.

The couple has traveled around the world to view solar eclipses. There have been 10 total solar eclipses, three of which were fully blocking the sun, and White has seen six total eclipses.

It is near the center of the path of totality and most of Texas has good odds of having clear skies on eclipse day that we chose to view in Fredericksburg, Texas. Should there be clouds, we want to be mobile so that we can drive if we need to.

It wasn't ideal if they had to drive to another destination in the event of unfavorable conditions.

They won't be alone in Texas. People are going to Texas. White says that most of Texas is a good choice for people over the age of 50. In case of clouds, Texas has great road networks in every direction out of each of the major cities. There's a lot of support for that community.

The last Great American Eclipse saw huge traffic jams after everyone left at the same time, so it is best to travel a day or two before and after.

The travel schedule isn't an option for everyone. She says the couple will be busy getting out orders of solar eclipse viewing glasses and other products until the last moment. They will take their dog with them on the drive from New Mexico to Texas.

White said they would stay a couple of days in order to avoid traffic jams. In the Fredericksburg area, we chose anAirbnb.

The number of people expected to watch the eclipse is exciting. Sharing it with friends and family is wonderful. It is our belief that a total solar eclipse is the most beautiful sight in nature.

New York state

Lake Placid hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980. The eclipse will be hosted by Placid.

The village nestled in the Adirondack Mountains sits in the path of totality for the North American Solar Eclipse of 2024, lasting three minutes and 21 seconds.

The towns and cities of New York will be in the path of totality. Sitting pretty in the Finger Lakes region on the southern shores of Lake Ontario, Rochester will be in the path of totality for three minutes and 38 seconds.

Rochester is celebrated as the city that made light fun and has a long history of achievements in science.

There will be festivals and eclipse tie-in events in the community. The ROC/FLX Craft Beverage Trail stretches from Rochester to the western shores of Canandaigua Lake.

One of the best cloud coverage records can be found in Rochester. Visit Rochester has eclipse information including hotel packages.

One of the best reasons to visit the county is the waterfalls at the state park. They will be in the path of totality. The wine trail goes through the region.

There is a hotel within walking distance of the state park. The solar eclipse site has more information.

Indianapolis

Indianapolis is one of the top 15 US cities that produce astronauts. One of the major cities in the path of the eclipse is preparing to celebrate.

The Children's Museum Indianapolis, the world's largest Children's Museum, is a great place to visit if you have a child or grandchild.

There is a hotel at Historic Union Station. Indy will be turning out the lights throughout the city to enhance the darkness during the eclipse, which is ironic since Thomas Edison once worked there.

The Marriott Hotel Indy is located close to the Indiana World War Memorial and American Legion Mall, which are recommended viewing areas for the eclipse.

Will you be able to see the solar eclipse?

Kentucky

There is a small town experience in Western Kentucky that is halfway between Nashville and St. Louis. It is in the path of totality for the solar eclipse in 24 years.

The city shines with its culture. The National Quilt Museum is the largest museum dedicated to quilting in the world, and it is located in the world's seventh Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art.

The 1856 Hotel is a boutique hotel located in a renovated redbrick antebellum building that used to be a gentlemen's haberdashery and a tractor repair shop.

A river goes through it. The solar eclipse is a good place to view it. Running along the confluence of the Tennessee and Ohio rivers, the riverfront offers walking trails that parallel the river with views of the nearby national forest. There are 50 large-scale murals depicting the city's history on the wall of the flood walls.

Maine

The Pine Tree State is the last spot in the path of totality in the U.S. and hotel reservations have begun.

Safety and traffic are in the works in the small towns of Houlton, Jackman and Greenville, which are expected to be affected by visitors. There will be lots of eclipse themed activites, themed souvenir gifts, and cool tours of the renowned to-scale solar system which runs along Route 1 in Houlton.

Visitors to Maine can get solar eclipse glasses from the office of tourism. Stay up to date on lodging and events by visiting.

Washington state

It isn't always practical to travel a long way to see an eclipse in a place that is lucky to be in the path of totality.

If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you will only be able to see a partial eclipse, but if you live in Canada, you will be able to see the whole thing.

He says that they will be on a boat that will take them to Ross Lake National Recreation Area to watch the eclipse. We chose this location because we were lucky enough to see the partial solar eclipse in 2017: Although we won't be able to see the total eclipse from here, we are very comfortable in the location. Watching an eclipse from the water is an out of body experience for me.

The couple decided on several factors. As my wife has type 1 diabetes, it is always best for us to travel to familiar locations. We decided to stay with our family in Texas so we could see the eclipse.

The couple will take the boat on a road trip. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event and something that brings the whole nation together.

One of the latest trends in camping is having it delivered.

5 Tips from Great American Eclipse
  1. Ensure odds of clear skies. Visit Eclipseophile for updated climate and weather forecast for astronomical events.
  2. Search for easy mobility in case of clouds or inclement weather.
  3. Make sure you have a full tank of gas and supplies for your day in the event you need to drive to a location that doesn’t have cloud coverage.
  4. Consider things like how high the sun will be in the sky (see maps for times and durations) and what might be in the foreground of your view and/or photos.
  5. Maybe sure you have ISO and/or CE certified safe solar viewers, including eclipse glasses or SUNoculars. You must wear them when looking at any phase of the annular eclipse and the partial phases of the total eclipse.
