Former UFC Fighter Phil Baroni Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Girlfriend

Phil Baroni was arrested in Mexico for the murder of his girlfriend.

A woman was found dead in San Francisco, a beach town just north of the resort of Puerto Vallarta, on New Year's Day.

The local newspaper Tribuna de la Baha reported that Baroni's hands were red and that she was bruised on her body.

According to the report, Baroni was under the influence of drugs and alcohol but called the authorities himself and said that he had gotten into an argument with another person. He forced her into the shower. He thought she was asleep when he came back, but she had already died.

The cause of death isn't known. The case is expected to be heard on Monday.

During his career, the 46-year-old fought for the UFC, Pride Fighting Championships, and other promotions. He was a professional in 2019.
