Industry wonks had the same reaction when Sony showed its Vision S concept car at the Consumer Electronics Show. The Afeela, an EV produced in partnership with Honda and destined for U.S. roads, was introduced by the Japanese company at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Three years ago, Sony showed off a concept called the Vision-S. It will contain a total of 45 sensors, from lidar to radar and in-car cameras. A stripe-like strip in the grille allows the car to express itself.
Sony promises it will make use of its partnerships in movies, music, and gaming, and it has a huge screen in the front of the car. It will have the computing power to run.
Preorders for the Afeela will open in the first quarter of 2025, and the first deliveries in North America will follow in the second half of the 20th century.
We will keep adding more details as we receive them.
