According to a report by Jeff Passan and Joon Lee, the Boston Red Sox and third baseman Rafael Devers are close to a $331 million deal.

The BoSox and Devers agreed to a one-year, $17.5 million deal on Tuesday. The deal will last through the 2033 season, according to the report.

The contract includes a signing bonus, according to Ken Rosenthal.

One of the best power-hitting third basemen in Major League Baseball has won his first Silver Slugger award, as evidenced by the fact that he has spent his entire six-year career with the Redy's.

The chief baseball officer of the RedSox wanted to keep the player in Boston. He talked about it during an interview with the sports network.

We'll probably try to get this done. Hopefully, we can complete this. People can put something out of reach if they don't know what they're doing. If he hits 63 homers, I hope he bets on himself.

Signing Devers to an extension will prevent them from losing another player. The team traded star right fielder Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead of the 2020 season.

The Red Sox have had a lot of work done this winter.

After losing starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi to the Texas Rangers in free agency, the club has signed Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida, infielder Justin Turner, starting pitcher Chris Martin, and relief pitcher Joely Rodrguez.

The signings didn't give Red Sox fans much hope for the future, but the extension of Devers makes up for it.
