The Chase United credit cards can be used to earn points for United elite status.
This isn't as easy as earning loyalty points with a credit card. Depending on which credit card you have, United co branded cards have maximum PQPs. Many of the cards are no longer open to new applicants.
You need to earn a certain number of PQPs each year to get into United. Spending a lot of money on United and Star Alliance flights is the only way to get PQPs.
Is it better to break the bank on flights than to use a credit card to spend everyday? A lot of spending is required to accumulate PQPs on credit cards.

Only one card can earn 500 PQPs for every $12,000 in card spending, and up to 3000 PQPs in a year.

The maximum PQP from this card is going to be doubled in three years. 500 PQPs are earned for every $12,000 in card spending, up to 6,000 PQPs in a year.
The PQP maximum was doubled by United. It can earn up to 8000 PQPs in a calendar year if it earns 500 PQPs for every $12,000 in card spending.
With 500 PQPs for every $12,000 in card spending, up to 10,000 PQPs in a calendar year, these two cards are the golden goose for earning PQPs. These cards have been closed for a long time.

You can earn up to 15,000 PQPs on eligible card spending if you have more than one credit card. It would take $360,000 of annual credit card spending to earn 5,000 PQPs.
Last year, Mileage Plus members were able to use PQPs earned through credit card spending to earn premier 1k status.
You can now count the PQPs you earn through credit card spending towards the status of premier 1k. If you earn PQPs with the United Presidential Plus Card or the United Presidential Plus Business Card, you will need to earn a 54-segment flight to be eligible for premier 1k status this year.
United Airlines elite status is worth something.
Flex PQP was earned by certain Mileage Plus members. These cards have earned standard PQP.
If you have Flex PQPs left over, you can apply them to the PQP status requirements for premier silver, premier gold and premium platinum, but not premier 1k. If you have already met your elite status goals you can choose which year you apply your Flex PQPs to.
Flex PQPs were issued before the year 2012 The Flex PQPs that were issued after this expired.
It takes a lot of money to earn PQPs through credit cards. There are significant variations in the maximum number of PQPs you can earn. You need to take at least four flights on United or United Express in a year to be eligible for any level of premier status.
