Keep an eye on your accounts: All the elite status rollovers and deposits to expect this month

The new year brings with it the reset of elite status qualification metrics.

You must requalify every year for travel elite status. You will enjoy the status that you earned last year. If you don't have lifetime status, you'll need to requalify this year to keep your status for another year.

When you go above and beyond and hold a credit card or requalify for elite status, a number of major loyalty programs offer bonuses. You should keep an eye on your accounts to make sure everything posts correctly.

Here are the elite status rollovers you should expect this month and how to find out if you are eligible.

Delta Air Lines rollover MQMs

Delta status requires a certain number of miles and dollars. If you want to keep your Delta status, you have to earn many MQMs, MQSs and MQDs in the next few years.

• Silver Medallion Status: 25,000 MQMs or 30 MQSs + 3,000 MQDs.
• Gold Medallion Status: 50,000 MQMs or 60 MQSs + 8,000 MQDs.
• Platinum Medallion Status: 75,000 MQMs or 100 MQSs + 12,000 MQDs.
• Diamond Medallion Status: 125,000 MQMs or 140 Medallion Qualifying Segments + 20,000 MQDs.

Every MQM above your status tier will be rolled over by Delta. You finished the year with 105,000 MQMs, but you are a Platinum Medallion. This year you will have 30,000 MQMs.

Take your status tier requirement and add it to your total MQMs.

United Airlines 2023 kick-off PQPs

There is a reminder for people who qualified for United status. You'll get a bonus deposit based on the status you achieved. What you can expect is listed here.

• Premier Silver: 500 PQPs.
• Premier Gold: 1,000 PQPs.
• Premier Platinum: 1,500 PQPs.
• Premier 1K: 2,500 PQPs.

If you have a PQP deposit, you will be able to requalify. This is what you will need to earn in order to become a United.

You will get a deposit for the status you earn in 2023.

In our tests, United hasn't made PQP deposits in its accounts.

There is a way to get maximum value from the United Mileage Plus program.

Hilton rollover nights

If you earn more nights than your status requirements, you'll get rolled over by the hotel. This year, it takes a lot of work to earn a spot on the list.

• Silver: 10 nights or four stays or 25,000 base points.
• Gold: 40 nights or 20 stays or 75,000 base points.
• Diamond: 60 nights or 30 stays or 120,000 base points.

Status requirements were lowered last year. Top-tier Diamond status can be earned with 42 nights of work. You could requalify for status in 2023 if you don't step foot into a hotel this year.

If you earned 38 nights last year, you'll have 10 nights this year. The elite night requirement should be subtracted from the rollover nights calculation.

You can get Diamond status by holding the American Express card.

Hyatt credit card nights

I want to requalify for Globalist. This is what it takes to be a Hyatt.

• Discoverist: 10 elite nights or 25,000 base points ($5,000 in Hyatt spending). Or, hold either of Hyatt's credit cards.
• Explorist: 30 elite nights or 50,000 base points ($10,000 in Hyatt spending).
• Globalist: 60 elite nights or 100,000 base points ($20,000 in Hyatt spending).

There are two credit cards offered by World of Hyatt, the World of Hyatt Credit Card and the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.

The World of Hyatt credit card gives you five tier-qualifier nights each year. If you spend more than $5,000 on the card, you can earn two additional tier-qualifying night credits.

You can get five elite nights for every $10,000 spent on the card.

Hyatt credit card nights have not yet been posted.

After being a Hyatt Globalist for five years, I have learned a lot.

IHG rollover nights

Any nights over Gold, Platinum and Diamond Elite are rolled over. Any nights earned in excess of SilverElite will not roll over.

Rollover nights are valid for a single year. This year, it's necessary to earn I hg One rewards.

• Silver Elite: 10 nights.
• Gold Elite: 20 nights or 40,000 elite qualifying points.
• Platinum Elite: 40 nights or 60,000 elite qualifying points.
• Diamond Elite: 70 nights or 120,000 elite qualifying points.

You earned 62 elite qualification nights. Ihg will roll over 22 elite nights since they are in excess of Platinum. You will be eligible for at least Gold Elite this year.

Marriott credit card nights

Some Marriott Bonvoy members can earn elite nights if they hold a Marriott co branded card. This year, Marriott Bonvoy status requires a certain amount of work.

• ​​Silver Elite: 10 elite nights.
• Gold Elite: 25 elite nights.
• Platinum Elite: 50 elite nights.
• Titanium Elite: 75 elite nights.
• Ambassador Elite: 100 elite nights (plus $23,000 in annual qualifying spending).

My colleague has written a complete guide to earning Marriott Bonvoy status from co branded credit cards, but I'll highlight that you can earn up to 40 elite nights per year from credit cards and up to 25 nights from a personal card. 35 nights away from titanium elite status.

Bottom line

Some programs give you a head start when it comes to your status metrics. Marriott is the only program that has put up credit card nights.
