Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson getting first-team reps in practice

While Tua Tagovailoa remains in concussion protocol, the Dolphins will use first-team reps for quarterback Skylar Thompson on Wednesday.

The coach said that he will be able to perform ballhandling drills, but that he won't be able to throw a football because of his injury. His status for the game is unknown.

Making himself available to the team is more important to Teddy than anything else. You can't know anything until you can throw a football. I wouldn't bet against my contract because I know he is going to do everything in his power.

We haven't had a game this year that wasn't started by Tua that was finished by the same quarterback. He's just trying to control what he can control and get to a point where he can feel confident throwing a football.

Tagovailoa won't be at practice Wednesday, but he has no timetable for his return.

The Dolphins signed Mike Glennon to their practice squad in order to prepare for the possibility that they won't have Bridgewater on Sunday.

He started four games for the New York Giants last season. Glennon is a good fit for the Dolphins because he has played for many different teams.

"I've faced him many times." He's a quarterback who's been through multiple systems and knows what it takes for him to speak the language quickly. I felt lucky to be able to get him because he plays the position aggressively with a lot of aggressiveness.

Chris and I thought this was the best course because I could not predict Teddy's availability.

With a win over the Jets and a loss by the Bills, the Dolphins can make the playoffs.
