According to multiple sources, the former United States men's national team captain sent threatening messages to the U.S. Soccer executives during the World Cup.

His son was told he would have a limited role at the tournament.

According to sources, U.S. Soccer was made aware of Berhalter's past domestic violence incident in December.

That information arrived the same day as comments Berhalter made at the HOW Institute for Society's Summit on Moral Leadership in New York were published by Charterworks.

Berhalter did not identify anyone by name, but it was clear that it was a reference to Reyna, and the player confirmed it in an IG post.

The sporting director for MLS club Austin FC didn't reply to a text message Tuesday and didn't reply to a phone call Wednesday. The spokesman for Austin FC did not respond.

Berhalter's contract as the U.S. coach expired at the end of the year.

"During the World Cup an individual contacted U.S. Soccer, saying that they had information about me that would 'take me down' - an apparent attempt to leverage something very personal from long ago to bring about the end of my relationship with U.S.

I met my soul mate in 1991. Berhalter said that he was a freshman in college when he met the woman. While out drinking at a local bar, I had a heated argument with another person. I kicked her in the legs.

The authorities were never involved in the incident, according to Berhalter. They married and have four children.

Over three decades ago, the lessons learned from that night became the foundation for a loving, devoted, and supportive relationship, which we celebrated with our 25th wedding anniversary this past weekend.

The United States Soccer Federation immediately hired a law firm to conduct an independent investigation after learning of the allegation against Berhalter.

On Wednesday, U.S. Soccer announced that current USMNT assistant coach Anthony Hudson would lead the team during a January camp.

They have a relationship that goes on for decades. They both played soccer for the U.S. national team and were teammates at the University of North Carolina for four years.

Berhalter was hired as the U.S. national team's coach, and he was praised by Reyna.

"From Berhalter's experience as a player, he wants to make sure they understand also the collectiveness of playing for the team, which is so important." He is excited and proud to be able to see the growth of this game and how these players are playing at such high levels, making his decisions to pick a squad difficult.

Berhalter told the Gab & Juls Show that when he was younger, he had the feeling that he would have a future in sports, noting that he was an excellent soccer and basketball player.

The connection is always there despite the fact that the national team manager is a different person. The bond is always there. The families are very close. There are times when I look at my friend and put him on the field. It's not new. You feel like you're looking at a familiar thing. You're putting a family member in the game. That has been enjoyable.

Despite dealing with injury issues over the past year, the 20-year-old was widely expected to play a meaningful role in the World Cup.

The man did not. In the group stage of the World Cup, he came off the bench to play seven minutes against England and 45 against the Netherlands.

He didn't respond well when he learned his role. He said he let his emotions get the best of him and affect his training and behavior for a few days.

The sporting director for Austin FC has been with the team since November, when he was hired after working for New York City FC for five years. Prior to his appointment in Austin, Josh Wolff was an assistant for Berhalter for five years with the Columbus Crew and another year with the national team.

Four years after retiring as one of the most accomplished American soccer players of all time, he was elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame. After winning three national titles in college playing for Bruce Arena at Virginia, Reyna's professional career lasted from 1994 to 2008 with stops in Germany, Scotland, England and MLS.
