You need to register for this promotion if you want to transfer between December 30, 2022, and January 31, 2023. It will take a long time for the bonus miles to be posted. There is no limit to how much you can earn with this offer.

Transfer bonuses are often offered directly by credit card rewards programs, but in this case the bonus is being offered by AsiaMiles. You won't see this promotion when you go to the credit card rewards page. Expect the points to be posted quickly and the bonus to be posted in a few weeks.

The United States has transfer partners with the Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.

Is this Cathay Pacific Asia Miles transfer bonus worth it?

Cathay Pacific is one of my favorite airlines in the world, but it is not my favorite frequent flyer program.

  • If I want to redeem for travel on Cathay Pacific, you’re typically better off booking through some partner programs, like American AAdvantage or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan
  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles’ partner award chart isn’t terribly lucrative, as redemption rates can be high, and fuel surcharges can also be steep

This offer is worth taking advantage of if you describe yourself as a fan of the program. I don't think this offer will get you interested in the program, for those who aren't familiar with it.

When booking through AsiaMiles, British Airways flights have lower carrier imposed surcharges than through other programs.

I love Cathay Pacific, but not Asia Miles

Credit card points can be converted into Cathay Pacific Asia Miles with a bonus. This is a great chance to convert points with Amex, Capital One, or Citi.

I don't think Asia Miles is really compelling. There is more use for flying with Cathay Pacific now that Hong Kong is open again. If you know what you're doing and have a specific use in mind, this could be worth it.
