The welcome offer on the Citi premier card has never been higher. It is a great bonus for a currency that has become more well-rounded in the past year with the addition of a couple of hotel transfer partners.
One of the best features of the Citi premier card is that it offers 3x ThankYou points for several categories where you will organically spend a significant chunk of your monthly expenditure.
You would end up with 92,000 ThankYou points if you spent all your money at 3x. You could get 6 round trip economy flights to Hawaii booked on United after transferring points to Turkish Miles & Smiles, 184,000 Choice Privileges points, and 6 nights in a one bedroom Vacasa property.
The 3x grocery store category is uncapped, which is one of the great features of the premier card. The Amex Gold card has a limit on the number of Membership rewards points that can be earned. For people who can maximize their spend at grocery stores, earning a potentially unlimited number of ThankYou points makes it a wonderful additional option.
When applying for this card, Citi has a rule for 24 months.
