An air ambulance is going to fly Rishabh Pant to Mumbai for surgery after he was injured in a car wreck.

The patient has been receiving treatment at a hospital in the Himalayas.

According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the 25-year-old will have "subsequent procedures for ligament tears".

According to police, Pant lost control of his car and it flipped over twice.

In a statement, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said: "The Board will make every effort to aid and expedite the recovery process of Rishabh and will provide him with all the support he needs during this period."

His hometown of Roorkee is in the northern state of Uttarakhand.

The player had injuries to his head, back and leg, according to reports in India.
