The press was given a sneak peek at the companies vying for everyone's attention this year at the world's biggest tech conference.
The one that says it can use artificial intelligence to tell parents why their baby is crying is likely to be heard a lot. Attendees are taken off the showroom floor and into 3D virtual worlds by metaverse companies at the Consumer Electronics Show.
A small table tucked into the back of aisle 600 was the first thing that attracted me to the store. The company located at this table is called Lexip. There were no promises of machine learning technology replicating the functions of a human being or a Back to the Future-esque device that will likely never make it out of the prototype stage.
Lexip was showing a mouse. That is correct. I went to the Consumer Electronics Show in the year 2023 to write about a mouse.

The Lexip Np93 Alpha isn't a completely new product from the company as Lexip is showing a number of its products including specially branded versions. Basic computer accessories include a PC gaming controller and a mouse. They're not even basic.
The Np93 Alpha was the gaming mouse that I was most fond of. Lexip makes ceramic glide feet, which stick to the bottom of the mouse, to increase accuracy and speed. You don't have to flick your wrist for that mouse to move. It feels as if you're using a video game console controller when using the mouse. This is how a mouse should be.
Every year at the Consumer Electronics Show, the companies hawking products that speak to that year's tech trends get the most attention. Unlike many of the trendy tech groups on the Consumer Electronic Show floor, Lexip's products can be purchased and used by consumers. The company didn't try to change the way things are done, instead trying to make products that people use more often. Lexip is not the only tech company doing new takes on basics, the brand just happened to have a booth in the back aisle of the show.
