The U- Scan is a portable health lab that collects urine for home urine screening. According to Withings, urine screening can give an immediate snapshot of the body's balance, and provide useful monitoring and detecting of a large variety of health information.
The U- Scan is 90mm in diameter and designed to collect urine through a collection inlet. A chemical reaction is read by an optical module when urine is detected through a thermal sensor. The U- Scan can take multiple readings at once. When the measurement is done, the urine is flushed through a waste outlet and the U- Scan is cleaned.
The Withings app on the iPhone can be used to send health readings from the U-Scan to other people. The reader is rechargeable and the testpods last for three months before they need to be replaced. The Withings app can give results, actionable insights, and guidance based on the urine results.
According to Withings, the U- Scan can be used by more than one person. The movement and distance of a user's urine stream can be determined by the sensors in the reader.
The U-Scan will be launched in Europe. The cycle sync shows menstrual cycle predictions and an ovulation window for women based on a number of factors.
There is an analysis of specific gravity, pH, and vitamins C and D. It has the ability to provide fluid and water balance for hydration and nutrition.
The U-Scan will be available in Europe in the second quarter of 2023 at a price of 499.95 euros. The U-Scan will be available in the US.
