It didn't take long for portable PCs to get the new graphics. Even in lower-end systems, the company has introduced a new graphics card that promises big leaps in performance. If you want to play a game on a 4K monitor at 60 frames per second, you don't need a PC.

The mainstream chips are said to be faster than the outgoing ones. They're quick enough to deliver 1440p gaming at up to 80FPS and are said to be twice as fast as a PS5. It is more practical to handle pro tasks like 3D modelling on 14-inch laptops.

The energy efficiency of the laptop variant is being kept in check by the energy efficiency of the desktop variant. The memory control lets the graphics card to go to lower-power states. The most efficient way to wring the most out of the video hardware is by tweaking the on-chip memory.

You won't be able to buy a laptop with a graphics card like the one you're going to use. The starting price for the first two models, the 4080 and 4090, will be $2,099. The entry price for an RTX 4050 is $999. You can expect adoption from well-known brands such as Acer, Alienware, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP,Lenovo,MSI, Razer and SAMSUNG. It's too early to say if the graphics cards will live up to their billing, but they'll be welcome updates if you're already thinking about buying a computer.
