Thousands of people have donated money to the football player's toy drive to show their support for Hamlin. Hamlin started the charity effort back in 2020 in order to get funds so he could give toys to kids in need in Pennsylvania. He had a goal of $2,500. Donations flooded in after Hamlin suffered a frightening medical emergency during the first quarter of Buffalo's Monday Night Football game. It hit $1 million around an hour after the young man was taken to the hospital, and by Tuesday morning it was over $3 million. The names of several football players were written on the donation list. Hamlin wrote on the Gofundme page "We are accepting donated toys at the daycare center or simply spread the word by sharing on your social channels." The Bills say Hamlin had a cardiac arrest after he tackled a man. He was taken to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment after his heartbeat was restored on the field. He is currently in a critical condition and has been snoozing. Hamlin started 13 games for the Bills this year.
