Dana White (centre) says he and his family were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate New Year's Eve on Saturday

Dana White said he and his wife apologized to each other after they slapped each other.

White and his wife Anne were in a nightclub in Mexico on New Year's Eve when a fight broke out.

White said that there was a lot of alcohol involved.

"You've heard me say for a long time, 'there's never ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,' and now here I am talking about it, and I'm on a celebrity website," he said.

A video, released by TMZ, showed White and his wife standing on the balcony of a VIP room at El Squid Roe in Cabo San Lucas.

Anne struck White across the face after he grabbed her wrist. White hit his wife before other people in the party came to his aid.

The Whites apologized to their three children.

He said that he and his wife have known each other since they were 12 years old.

I'm embarrassed by this situation, it's horrible. We're worried about our kids right now.

The kids have seen the video since it popped up. Right now, we're more focused on our family.

White was named president of the company after Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta purchased the UFC for $2 million.

The company was sold for more than $4 billion. The company was owned by White at the time.
