Pornhub users in Louisiana now have to submit government ID to access the site

Unless you have a government-issued ID and a driver's license, you can't watch porn in Louisiana.

This is thanks to a recently passed law that requires age verification for websites that contain more pornographic material.

The way it works is that porn websites verify a visitor's age using an app that requires a Louisiana state ID or driver's license.

It is one thing to see this on paper, but a different thing to experience it in person. Public defendering recorded the process on video and put it in a tweets.

The mobile version of PornHub asks visitors to verify their age.

"Louisiana law requires us to verify the age of users who connect to our site from Louisiana," reads the message. The privacy and security of the PornHub community is of paramount importance to us.

We can imagine some people not being too comfortable with handing over official documents in order to access a pornographic site, since PornHub claims that it does not collect any data during this process.

Utah senator Mike Lee has proposed a law that would require age verification for access to porn websites on a national level.
