The game between the Buffalo Bills and CincinnatiBengals was suspended after a Bills safety collapsed on the field.

Hamlin is in a hospital in critical condition, according to the league.

The game was stopped at the 5:58 mark of the first frame as players headed to their locker rooms.

Hamlin tackled the receiver after he caught the ball. He came back to his feet. Trainers and medical personnel took care of the young man.

Hamlin received cardiopulmonary assist for a short time before he was loaded onto an ambulance.

Hamlin's peers on the field reacted quickly to the magnitude of the situation.

Multiple Bills players were comforting each other as he was taken to the hospital. The players turned away from Hamlin.

The game would continue. The game officials told the players they would have five minutes to warm up. The Bills and the Reds wouldn't send their players out onto the field.

The game was stopped for a while before the league decided to call it quits. When the two teams will pick up where they left off is not known.

The Bills entered Week 17 of the season with a 12-3 record and second place in the conference.
