Hamlin was in a local hospital in critical condition after he was injured in the first quarter of the game.

Jordon Rooney, Hamlin's representative, said that Hamlin's vitals were back to normal and that he had been put to sleep to have a breathing tube put down his throat.

An ambulance was brought to the field to take Hamlin. Joe Buck said during the broadcast that cardiopulmonary assist was being given to Hamlin.

Per Joe Buck on ESPN, Damar Hamlin is being administered CPR on the field in Cincinnati.

The game was stopped after a long delay. The game will be completed at a later date.

Hamlin collapsed in a scary scene after tackling Higgins. He was down on the field for a while as he was evaluated for a head injury before officials began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He was taken to the hospital and then off the field.

The Bills were emotional and shook during the broadcast. The team was brought together to say a prayer by Sean McDermott.

Hamlin was drafted in the sixth round by Buffalo. He became a starter in the third week of the season after safety Micah Hyde was injured.

Hamlin had appeared in all 15 games this season and had played in 91 of them.
