Masters: Invite sent to US golfer Scott Stallings' namesake

Scott Stallings was shocked when he found out his invitation to the Masters had gone to someone else.

He had been checking the mailbox five times a day for his invitation before he received a direct message from another person.

I'm 100% sure this is not for me, that's what the message from his name said. Wow, I play. Not close to your level.

"Hello Scott," the message started. Scott is from Georgia and he has the same name. I have a wife's name as well.

The Masters invited me to play in the tournament in April of 2023.

Everything you need to attend is included in the package. I think we have a lot of confusion because of our names.

He attached a picture of the invitation and said he was not kidding.

On the social media site, many of the replies called on the golfer to invite his namesake to the Masters as his guest.

Scott Stallings was urged to caddie for the professional at the Par 3 contest before the Masters.

The last win for Stallings was at the Farmers Insurance Open.

The Masters tournament is held at Augusta National.
