One day after Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles was injured in Sunday's loss, Colts interim coach Jeff Saturday criticized New York Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux for his snow angel sack celebration.
In the second quarter of the Giants' 38-10 win at MetLife Stadium, the blindside hit that caused Foles to land on the ball caused him to fall on top of the defensive end. As the Colts encircled their quarterback, Thibodeaux launched into a lengthy celebration, doing fake snow angels on the ground next to the injured Foles.
Saturday said that the celebration afterwards was bland. It's just trash. I'm not a fan of it.
After the game, he said, "After a sack, you celebrate." We got up when I realized he was hurt. You don't look to see who is doing what when you are celebrating. I hope he's all right.
Saturday didn't like the fact that his players didn't intervene in the game.
Saturday is a former Colts Pro Bowl center. They protect their own. I'm known to y'all. I've been here awhile. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. I wasn't a fan of it at all. I will leave it that way.
Saturday said that he was sore on that side of his body. He landed on the ball after taking a huge shot there. He's going to be down this week because of the pain.
Sam Ehlinger will start at quarterback for the Colts against the Texans. Ryan will be his backup.
