The tennis great has been diagnosed with two different types of cancer.
The 18-time Grand Slam winner told Tennis.com that she has a good chance of surviving both types of cancer.
"This is serious but fixable, and I'm hoping for a favorable outcome," Navratilova said in an interview. It's going to stink, but I will fight with everything I have.
The 66-year-old Navratilova will start treatment this month. A nine-time Wimbledon champion has been diagnosed with throat cancer, which is treatable, and is facing her second bout with breast cancer, which is unrelated to the throat cancer.
Navratilova was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 but was free of the disease six months later.
Navratilova and Chris Evert are the third and fourth most Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era.
