In his annual year-end report, Chief Justice John Roberts said that the threats of violence that judges faced in the aftermath of Brown should be a lesson.

There are threats of violence to Supreme Court justices throughout the year and the public is upset over several decisions made by the courts.

Many Americans are still reeling from the aftermath of one of those decisions, which overturned the right to abortion. A 10-year-old girl had to go out of state for an abortion after she was denied one in her home state, as well as women who needed life-saving medical care in the case of ectopic pregnancies.

The 1957 case in which the Supreme Court overturned the right to desegregate schools was the subject of most of Robert's written statement.

Robert Davies, an Arkansas judge who ruled against the Governor of Arkansas's decision to order the Arkansas National Guard to block the entry of nine Black children into a Little Rock school, faced threats of physical violence, but there were many people that stood by him.

The law requires judges to do their job without fear or favor, but we must support them by making sure they are safe.
