The fathers and sons were identified by the Denver Post.

According to the information center, the son was one of two people who died this season.

There are more "rain-on-snow" events in Colorado during the winter because of the changing climate, according to the director of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.

For a specific period of time each year, there used to be a certain number of avalanches, but they are now happening throughout the season, according to CBS.
