According to a source, the quarterback withdrew his name from the transfer portal in order to join new Coastal Carolina coach Tim Beck.
The portal allowed coaches from other programs to communicate with him when he entered his name. The decision to enter the portal was sparked by the departure of Jamey Chadwell from Coastal Carolina to Liberty.
Over the last few seasons, the junior quarterback has been an important part of the success. He completed 69.7% of his passes and threw for 2,776 yards with 24 touchdown and two pick ups. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the year.
Over the course of his career, McCall has thrown for 8,086 yards, 78 touchdown and eight pick ups, while completing 70% of his passes.
Beck came from NC State where he was the quarterbacks coach. One less position Beck will have to worry about for next season, as the other quarterbacks on the roster have very little experience.
