Remembering Gangsta Boo Getty

Gangsta Boo, a pioneer of female rap, has died.

DJ Paul threw up a photo of her on IG, seemingly as a tribute to her. Several artists commented on the death of a loved one. It is not known what happened to her death.

Gangsta Boo's career began in the '90s when she was linked up with Paul, Juicy J and other founding members of the rap group. Gangsta Boo was one of the only females in the crew, but she paved her own path as part of T6M.

Gangsta was a part of the first 5 studio albums of Three 6 Mafia, including their debut record "Mystic Stylez"

Gangsta Boo left Three 6 in the early 2000s, but went on to have a notable career after that, with several mixtapes and a solo studio album. This doesn't include the countless features she's been a part of -- working with rap titans like Gucci Mane, OutKast, E-40, T.I and more.

She collaborated with Killer Mike and El-P in Run The Jewels. Gangsta Boo was working with various media outlets to put out music.

Gangsta Boo was popular in the Memphis community and music scene. She was spending a lot of time on social media.

She was older than 40.

I am sad.
