Tough luck, Jeff.

The narrative may write itself. It just falls in your lap when you are extremely fortunate. The Big Ten could have sent at least one representative to the College Football Playoff.

College football in 2022-23 is similar to how well-laid plans are.

Michigan vs. TCU

Any game involving the Frogs is going to have 17 different kinds of drunk. The score was 26-9 at the half. The final score was 41-38 by the 14 minute mark.

We were able to get there by 11 second-half scores. The opening quarter of Jim Harbaugh's Philly special felt like a crucial mistake at the time, yet it was one of 85,803 inflection points that sent Sonny Dykes' team to within one win of the national title.

Max and the Frogs weren't given a chance to go to the title game. When J.J. McCarthy got up off the ground, the Frogs had a response.

The previous high score for a Fiesta Bowl was a 62-24 romp of Nebraska over Florida in 1996. It was a roller coaster of emotions and the people came out smiling.

Ohio State vs. Georgia

Ohio State did not trail until 54 seconds remained in the game. Georgia has been playing with its food all season, but it definitely felt like they came across an opponent to be taken seriously, and had to show up.

No one knew what was going to happen when the bulldogs went ahead for what would be the final score. The rise from the ashes of the Michigan disaster was halted when the Ohio State missed a 50-yard field goal.

Both UGA and OSU felt like the title was theirs to lose when it came down to the wire. The glass slipper is going to be shattered when Cinderella is sullied.

The defensive units of all four teams were eliminated from the Peach Bowl. The Big Ten was left out in the cold of both of the semifinals because they were the best games we had seen.

It feels right that neither the Ohio State nor the Michigan will win the ultimate trophy this year. If there was a consolation game, they would be in it because they played each other first.

It didn't matter that C.J. Stroud looked like the top pick. It will be lost in the history of theCFP. The title game would probably be a repeat of the Thanksgiving weekend staple if you told the average fan that.

It is perfect for this crazy season that the national title game is a repeat of the Liberty Bowl. I bet UGA that Hypnotoad has never beaten them in four attempts.
