Journalists were invited to a surprise slot of "media availability" by Donald Trump on New Year's Eve.

According to Raw Story, not a single cable news network covered it.

The media outlet said that Fox News and Newsmax didn't cover the former president's comments.

On Saturday, Alex Witt announced that the former president would host a "media availability" slot on New Year's Eve.

New York Times journalist Peter Baker, who was appearing on MSNBC, said he didn't know what it would involve, but he suspected it was a ploy to get attention in a positive way.

The Trumps appeared in front of the reporters at 9:00 p.m. The audio was barely audible for the first minute of his speech.

A video of the "media availability" slot, which was covered by the Right Side Broadcasting Network, shows that Trump talked about the FBI, his campaign, and Russia's war in Ukraine.

Trump criticized Fox News in a Truth Social post.

He wrote that the ratings for Fox News are down because they never say "Trump" or "truth" and are a fake polling network.
