Experts share the

When you should seek expert care if your body mechanisms become a problem, experts share the "gross" body mechanisms that are beneficial.

Is it possible that you have earwax or fart?

These bodily functions are good for your health. You need them for optimal functioning even if they are stinky, unattractive or a nuisance.

We chatted with a few doctors to learn more about the most common disgust inducing body mechanisms. This is what to know.

1. Earwax

A build-up of earwax, also known as cerumen, may be the cause of a blocked ear. Ear wax is good for you when it isn't causing damage.

Ear wax is necessary. Ear wax protects the ears from things that could hurt the eardrum.

There are a number of factors that can affect the amount of earwax you have.

Earwax should be left alone in most cases unless there is a serious condition.

2. Leaky Nipples

People who just had a baby will probably experience this phenomenon.

Whitney Casares is the founder and CEO of the Modern Mamas Club. As your body works out the balance of supply and demand between you and your baby, all that extra milk can get messy.

Heavy milk production for nursing people is a sign of leaking nipples. If there is pain or other discharge leaking from the nipples, you should consult with your doctor to rule out any underlying conditions.

3. Flatulence

Gas is a natural result of the bicyle.

It is a way for your body to excrete both air and food waste.

Diet, activity level, antibiotic use, and even altitude can affect the volume and frequencies of flatulence.

Farting can show that your diet is high in fiber which can show improved gut health. It can help prevent stomach pain which can be caused by "holding it in."

Too much farting can be a bad thing. It's a good idea to tell your doctor aboutcess gas that can lead to abdominal pain.

Healthline says that excessive flatulence is defined as farting more than 20 times a day. It can be indicative of other issues if it is caused by a diet high in fiber.

4. Burps

Sometimes you have to let it out for your health, even if you have been told not to.

Even though burping seems gross, it is a normal bodily function. When we swallow food or drinks, the acids in our stomach help break down the food into its component parts, which are used for energy in the body.

If you hold in your burps because you are embarrassed or just don't like doing them, then you could experience an overinflation of the stomach that could cause pain.

If burping a few times isn't a cause for concern, then you should go to the doctor's office. While burping is a normal function, it can be associated with a number of conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease.

5. Vaginal Discharge

You might see a discharge when you wipe. This clear substance is a sign that the reproductive system is in good shape.

Casares said that vaginal discharge keeps the vagina clean and prevents infections.

Casares said that if your discharge has a fishy odor, you should get checked out by a medical professional to rule out any underlying conditions.

6. Mucus

mucus will most likely be seen in a tissue after you blow your nose. Cells in your mouth, throat, nose and sinuses produce mucus.

Mud helps protect the upper and lower airway. It's slippery consistency helps trap potential irritants as it contains special antibodies andProteins to help fight harmful germs that may be introduced into your respiratory tract.

If you are sick or have other lung disease, mucus can become thick and can cause difficulty breathing.

7. Pooping

"Everyone poops." is a popular saying. Thebowel movements are the mechanism for our body to get rid of materials that can't be eaten. Normal bowel movements are from three times a day to three times a week

A smooth soft sausage or snake-like type of poop is ideal according to the Bristol stool chart. If anything is too far out from the description, it should be flagged to a professional.

Alterations in bowel movements can be an indication of health. You will want to schedule an appointment with your doctor if you have any of the following.

8. Pus

When you get an illness, like a staphylococcus or folliculitis, you may notice that there is some redness. It is a good thing that it is an ugly thing.

Dr. William Li, a physician and author of Eat To Beat Disease, said that the white stuff coming out of an infection is the collection of defensive white blood cells that are attackingbacteria to trap and kill them.

It is normal to have some swelling around one or two days after the event. White blood cells are working to fight the germs in the wound. It will usually be odor-free if the wound is healed.

You want to head to the doctor as soon as you can because the wound may be hot to the touch and you may have to take medication to clear it.
