Linda Burney told the Sun-Herald that Australians could vote on changing the constitution in August.

The campaign is about giving Indigenous Australians a voice in parliament. The Yes campaign is expected to start in February. Burney told the Sun-Herald that enabling legislation could be drafted some time in March.

The vote on the legislation could be held as early as August and as late as November.

The Sun-Herald reported that the Liberal Party would make a decision on the vote early in the New Year. The National Party is part of an opposition coalition with the Liberal Party.
