The league's concussion protocol was not violated by Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the team's loss to the Green Bay Packers.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, a joint statement was released by the league and the union stating that symptoms of a concussion were not reported until the following day.

Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol for the second time this season, and he won't play in the Dolphins' crucial game against New England.

The National Football League's chief medical officer said this week that Tagovailoa didn't show any signs of a concussion and didn't need to be taken off the field.

The head coach of the Dolphins said that Tagovailoa was placed in the concussion protocol after he told doctors he was feeling unwell.

Tua's previous stint in the protocol happened after he was knocked out of a game. The head of Tagovailoa hit the ground, causing his hands and fingers to seize. He was released from the hospital after an evaluation.

The Dolphins lost both of their games without Tagovailoa.

Four days before the Cincinnati game, Tagovailoa's head hit the ground after a late hit, and he stumbled when trying to get to his feet. After missing a few plays, Tagovailoa came back to lead Miami to a victory.

The National Football League changed its concussion protocol because of that, as it now requires any player who shows symptoms to be evaluated and out of the game.

The Dolphins were once considered one of the best teams in the league because of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's connection with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, but they have dropped four games in a row and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in eight years.

The Dolphins had a chance to beat the Packers but Tagovailoa threw three picks in the final three minutes.

If they lose to the Pats, they will be tied with their division rivals at 8-8, and the New York Jets and PittsburghSteelers will also be at 8-8.

It is possible that Teddy Bridgewater will be the starter in Week 18 against the Jets if he plays well against New England.
