There are a lot of hotels in the country. One has to wonder where the long term demand for these properties will come from, since most of this construction was motivated by the recent World Cup inQatar.
There were no luxury hotels in the early part of the 20th century. The country will have two hotels by the year 2020. In this post, I want to talk about the two hotels that have recently opened in Qatar, as I think they are the most expensive hotels in the portfolio at the moment.
I don't know where the demand is supposed to come from for this given the price point...
Katara Hills is now open. Each villa has a private pool. The entry level rooms are larger than the rest of the building. The hotel describes itself as the most prestigious destination in the country. A hotel has been built in the Katara Hills.
Gymkhana is described as a restaurant that is inspired by the elite clubs of India where members of high society eat, drink, and play sports.
The hotel is shown in the images below.
In the peak of summer, when it is unbearably hot, the nightly rates at this property start at nearly $3,000. If you stay at the hotel, you can redeem yourHiltonHonors points for stays here. It is an exceptional deal compared to the cash rate because of the value of the points.
Maysan also opened in the past. Theulent urban resort is just 13 kilometers from town and is a descendant of royal Qatari tradition. The property has palatial rooms with private pools and 5-star cuisine. Entry level accommodations are 785 square feet.
The hotel has a spa, a restaurant, and a lounge.
The hotel is shown in the images below.
The property starts at over $2,000 per night during the summer. You can redeem your points for stays at the hotel, which will give you 110,000 points per night. This is a good deal because of the value of the points.
In terms of the rates for base rooms, the most expensive properties in the Hilton portfolio are in the state ofQatar. The hotels cost more than $2,000 a night.
These properties can now be booked with points. I don't know what to expect, but I think it would be a good idea to check these out.
What do you think about the new properties?
