A number of controversial figures have been brought back together with their suspended accounts since Musk took over the company.

Donald Trump was kicked off the platform.

Musk restored Trump's account in November of 2022. The former US president hasn't started using his account again.

Trump has made no secret of how much he values the platform, causing some confusion. He said he would not have become president if it wasn't for it.

Trump's brand and image were entwined with Truth Social, a platform he founded and launched in February 2022, making it difficult for him to rejoin the social networking site.

Twitter is a Truth Social competitor

The structure of Truth Social is similar to that of Twitter. Users follow each other. The "re-truth" option is similar to a retweet.

Matt Navarra is a social media expert. It would be odd for Trump to be pushing hard and invested heavily in a social platform that has a lot of similarities with the competition.

Trump has made it clear that he is committed to truth social. He told Fox News that he was staying on Truth. I like the way it works, but I'm sticking with Truth.

The former president is obligated to post on Truth Social first.

After the initial Truth Social post, Trump agreed to not post on another platform for six hours. Political messaging was not covered by the clause.

Navarra said that the six-hour post agreement kind of defeats the purpose of being on the social networking site.

Many Truth Social users want him to stay put

According to data, many users of Truth Social want Trump to steer away from other social networks. A poll was posted on Truth Social asking if Trump should get back on the social networking site.

A majority of the people who voted in the poll wanted him to return to the micro-messaging service. The results of the poll show that 63.9% of the people think he should come back and 36.1% think he shouldn't.

One person commented, "Why do people think he needs to go to social media when he's not lying?" That's dumb thinking.

Another person, whose name was Sherry, said "I say hell no!" Sherry told Insider that she still doesn't trust the social networking site. Conservatives are still being banned.

'Star of the show'

A lot of Truth Social users want to hear from the former president.

Navarra said that Trump is the star of the show on the platform.

Navarra said that Donald Trump would not want to be the second character of a platform when it was owned by Musk.

"I don't think either of them will want to be second fiddle to the other," he said.

Trump did not reply immediately.
