The New Years Festivities are already underway in many places around the globe and the LoyaltyLobby teams want to send best wishes to our readers wherever they may spend their New Years Eve.

It is still midday of December 31st in North America and that means we will see our annual loyalty account counter reset to zero.

Every year there are some nice destinations where people flock to celebrate new years eve, especially if you like fireworks, but this year it might be a little different in some parts of the world as many celebrations have been cut down or canceled altogether.

We recommend double-checking your accounts to make sure that your status is reflected in the new year.

Most of us were free to travel again this past year for the first time since thepandemic. I traveled to North America and Europe, took three cruises, and visited Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

Japan, Malaysia, Korea, and Taiwan closed their borders for over two years in order to boost tourism. Visitors were allowed in Hong Kong despite the heavy restrictions.

I am currently in Tokyo, and most public countdowns such as in Shibuya have been canceled yet again, as well as hotels such as the Hyatt Centric Ginza, which have put their NYE program on hold.

Positive expectations that the new year will bring us closer to our previous normal life is what I prefer to have. We will either deal with it one way or the other.

Wishing all our readers a happy new year, safe travels, and a successful hunt for your loyalty rewards in the coming year.
