James finished with 10 rebound and 9 assists. He scored 16 points in the second quarter, 13 in the third and 16 in the final quarter. The ninth-ranked scorer was James, who had a 27.8 average.
After blowing a 15-point lead, the Hawks regained the lead on Holiday's 3-pointer. James hit a 3 from the right wing to give Los Angeles the lead and they never looked back. The Hawks called timeout after the Lakers went up by a point.
The Lakers had lost nine of their last 13 but led 120-118 on James' three-point play. The crowd roared as he drew John Collins' sixth foul and hit a baseline layup. His reverse layup on the baseline drew the crowd to its feet after he hit the free throw.
Thomas Bryant's layup with 55 seconds to go gave Los Angeles a 126-118 lead. James made both of his free throws to make it 130-131 with the crowd chanting "MVP! That's a great name for a person!
At San Antonio, James scored a season-high 39 points.
After signing his jersey for 2 Chainz, James left the court for a second time to a standing ovation.
