In 1976, Barbara got a job at ABC. She was the first woman to anchor a network news show, but her co host didn't like it and it made it hard for her to succeed. She appeared on the show for decades and became a fixture and regular contributor.

Some of her biggest interviews were featured on "20/20," as well as other shows, which included notable face-to-face conversations with people like Monica Lewinsky, Patrick Swayze, and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. There is a list going on and on.

Donald Trump was Barbara's final interviewer. In 2016 she hadn't been seen much since. She signed autographs when she was on camera.

She'd been married four times and had dated some very high-profile people, including notorious McCarthy-era attorney Roy Cohn.

She had a daughter with another man.
