Gervonta Davis did not harm the woman who called the police, she said Friday.
The woman, whose identity was confirmed by her attorney, said in part that she made an unnecessary call to law enforcement while she was frantic.
According to the incident report, Davis hit a woman on the right side of her head with a closed hand. He referred to the woman as the mother of his daughter after denying the allegations.
The woman wrote in her statement that the past few days have been very tiring for everyone. I pride myself on being extremely private and I didn't want this situation to be made public. Gervonta and I were both to blame for the argument that took place in our relationship.
I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement while I was frantic. Gervonta did not hurt us. We needed help moving forward with our lives today. We will succeed with the counseling provided to us.
The woman who doesn't live with Davis had a small scratch to her lip on the right side of her mouth.
The woman on the audio of the call begged for help. I had a baby in the car and attacked me as I tried to leave. I'm going to be killed by him.
Davis was arrested and jailed on a domestic violence charge. He was released after a court hearing where bail was set at $1,000.
On January 7th, Davis is scheduled to fight in Washington, D.C.
