Pat was made a CBE in the New Year's honours list.

He played for Northern Ireland in over 100 games and won five trophy.

The 77-year-old said it was nice to be recognized.

The former captain of Northern Ireland's football team, Gail Redmond, and the lawn and indoor bowler, Sandra Bailie, have been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

He has received recognition for his services to charity. Steven Davis became the new captain of the Northern Ireland men's team in October 2020 and replaced him as the team's all-time caps leader.

He won his first cap at the age of 18 in a British Home Championship match against Wales.

At the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, the Newry-born goalkeeper made his final appearance for Northern Ireland in a 2-0 loss to Brazil.

At the 1982 finals, he was in goal for Northern Ireland.

"I've been very lucky to be on the Queen's Birthday Honours list for a long time now," he said.

He is involved with charity work and football. He said his work in football reminds him of when he started playing.

I get it back to me. The people who set me up 65 years ago are the people who are nowadays.

I like to acknowledge the work those people do.

If I wasn't involved with those charities, my weeks wouldn't be the same. It is great to be able to support a cause.

After leaving Newry Town to joinWatford in the Third Division, he moved to Spurs a year later.

He won the first FA Cup in 1967.

He was named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year in 1976, after scoring in the Charity Shield win over Manchester United.

He joined Spurs a year later and played in three FA Cup finals in a row.

After retiring in 1986, he became the goalkeeping coach at Spurs and still works there.

Redmond was the captain of the Northern Ireland women's football team and received an award for her service to women's football.

Redmond, who won 25 Northern Ireland caps, spent 10 years in America as a player and head soccer coach before returning to Northern Ireland.

In 2008 she returned to Northern Ireland and Glentoran where she won four league titles and numerous cups before retiring.

The women's development manager at the Irish FA Foundation is Redmond, who began working for the Irish FA in 2009.

She said that she sees her work with women's football as doing her job.

I don't believe it will sink in until I get it.

Every year on 1 January, you can see who is on the list, and now my name will be on it.

Sandra Bailie
Sandra Bailie is a seven-time Irish champion

Her services to lawn bowls have earned her a place in the Order of the British Empire.

He holds the record for the most Irish indoor titles with 29 and has also won British titles in triples and pairs.

She has seven Irish titles in bowls.

She said that she is one of the best loser you will ever see.
