Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward watches as the ball lands in the back of his net
Wout Faes became just the fourth player to score two own goals in a single Premier League game, after Jamie Carragher, Michael Proctor and Jonathan Walters

Wout Faes scored two own goals as the Reds came back to beat the Foxes.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall raced through on goal before firing past Alisson to give the Foxes the lead after just four minutes.

Both sides had chances to score after that in an entertaining first half but it was the other way around.

The ball looped over Danny Ward and into the back of the net with seven minutes to go in the first half.

The defender put the ball into the back of his own net after Darwin Nunez's shot bounced back off the post to make it worse for the team.

It was a tonic for the Reds and they should have put the game out of reach in the second half, with Mohamed Salah putting a decent chance wide of the post with only Ward to beat.

The win moves the Reds to within two points of the top four.

They are still 13th and four points above the bottom of the table.

Faes' unfortunate night

It was a night to forget for Faes, with the Belgian defender having been a huge player for the Foxes since joining on transfer deadline day back in September.

It felt like everything that could have gone wrong for him did so here.

The first goal could have been better. Ward shouted for him to leave it, but Faes made the most awkward connections to send the ball looping over the Wales international.

The second goal was unfortunate as he rushed to get back and clear off the line so he couldn't stop the ball from bouncing back off the post and into his path.

Jamie Carragher is the only other player to score two own goals in a single game in the English top flight.
