Kimes: Seahawks would be 'foolish' to move on from Geno Smith (0:41)

Geno Smith should be trusted by the Seattle Seahawks beyond this season, according to Kim Minaes. There is a 0:41

Geno Smith has a chance to add millions to his current deal when his contract expires after this season, but he will have to wait.

Smith, who wasn't even supposed to be the starter this year, has achieved the unexpected.

Smith's final total will be determined by how the Seahawks perform in their final two games. The field is named after Fox.

Smith will make an extra $2 million if Seattle makes the playoffs and if he plays more than 80% of the snaps this season, which should be a lock.

Which players have the highest payouts?

• Dolphins put trust in Bridgewater

• Darnold's patience pays off

• Hockenson trade an all-timer

He will make an extra $1 million if he plays 85% of Seattle's snaps. He would make $750,000 if he fell below that number.

He'll make $1 million if he tops 4,000 or more passing yards, and he'll make $500,000 if he throws at least 20 touchdown passes. He will get $750,000 if he fails to meet his goals.

Smith is on a one-year deal with a base salary of $1.26 million, a $500,000 signing bonus, and $1.105 million in per-game bonuses, and he gets $30,000 for every game he plays.

He's not the only quarterback expected to make a lot of money.

Jimmy Garoppolo earned a lot of bonus money even though he didn't become a starter until after the second week of the season.

An extra $100,000 per win was added to Garoppolo's contract because he played more than 25% of the snaps. The Niners went 3-7 in Garoppolo's 10 games and earned him an extra $3.2 million. Garoppolo may not return this season due to an injury.

If Garoppolo plays 50% of the snaps in a playoff game and the 49ers win the NFC title game, he'll get $500,000.

The New Orleans Saints had a backup quarterback. If he plays at least 50% of the snaps this season, he'll make an extra $1 million and another $500,000 if he reaches the 60 percent mark. In March, the quarterback signed a deal with a base salary of nearly $2 million and a signing bonus of more than $1 million.

Heading into the final two weeks of the season, there are some other players who have more on the line.

The favorite to win the Most Valuable Player will make an extra $1.25 million if he wins the award and another $1.25 million if he plays in half of the snaps in the playoffs.

If the Vikings win the Super Bowl, KirkCousins will make $1 million if he plays 75% or more of the offensive snaps. If he's the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player, he'll get $1 million more.

Smith-Schuster has earned $3 million in incentives due to his 74 catches and three touchdown seasons. He will get $500,000 more if he hits 900 yards.

If Smith-Schuster plays 65 percent of Kansas City's snaps this season, he'll get another 1.5 million dollars. Smith-Schuster has played more snaps than any other player.

Smith-Schuster can make $1 million if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl and his incentives are met.

Frank Clark will make $1 million if he plays at least 60 percent of the time. Making the playoffs was part of the incentive.

Clark will get another $500,000 if he plays at least half of the snaps in the title game. He will make $1 million if Kansas City wins the Super Bowl and he plays half the game.

If Clark gets at least five sacks, he can earn a million dollars.

Dunlap is near cashing in. He will make $1 million if he plays at least half of the snaps.

Dunlap needs two more sacks to make $1 million on top of the play time percentage. He's not likely to get nine or 11 sacks, which would have made him rich. The Chiefs will allow less net yards this year than they did last year.

Chris Jones made over a million dollars for getting 10 sacks. He has twelve.

Randy Gregory made an extra half a million dollars because he played more than 40% of the snaps.

Christian Kirk signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Jacksonville Jags in the off-season. Kirk is trying to add more money. Kirk made an extra seven figures with 76 catches for 988 yards.

Kirk will get half a million dollars if he hits 80. If he reaches 90 catches, then another $500,000 will be added, and if he reaches 100 catches, then another $500,000 will be added.

Kirk has caught six or more passes in eight of the 15 games he has played this season. Kirk will get $500,000 if he hits 1,000 yards, $500,000 if he hits 1,100 yards, and $500,000 if he hits 1200 yards.

The last two games for Kirk are against Houston and Tennessee. He made nine catches for 69 yards against them.

Kirk told his agent not to give him updates on how close he is to his incentives.

He wanted to find out at the end. It's difficult to go into a game and say, "Hey, you need six catches, I can only control what I can control."

If the game is on the line and we're trying to win it, I won't beg.

The tight end has made an extra $600,000 for catching 700 yards. $800,000 will be reached if he reaches 80 catches or 800 yards.

He doesn't keep a record of his bonuses.

"We're in a situation where we're trying to make the playoffs, so I can only imagine that it's going to get worse soon," he said.

Campbell has already earned $500,000 for his sacks. He will make $1 million if he gets eight sacks. He will make $500,000 if he plays 60 percent of the snaps and $1 million if he plays 70 percent. Campbell has played 54.13% of the snaps.

Houston made an extra $1 million because he has nine sacks. If he gets at least 10 sacks, that will make him a millionaire. He missed out on half a million dollars because he didn't make the Pro Bowl.

Patrick is playing in 98% of the snaps this year. He will make more money if he finishes over 75% for the year, because the Vikings made the playoffs to satisfy the other part of the incentive. If the Vikings win the playoffs, it will add up to $1 million.

Cox lost out on a million dollars because he didn't make the Pro Bowl. Since the 2020 season, he has not been a Pro Bowler.

Riley Reiff, who could have earned up to $9 million in incentives, isn't likely to hit any of them. The bonuses were probably not going to be earned. He didn't play enough because the Bears improved in scoring. He would have hit the first marker by playing more than half of his snaps. Reiff has played in almost half of Chicago's offensive snaps.
