VIDEO: It's Not Just Americans Who Go Bananas on Planes

There have been a lot of fights on planes and in airports. Most took place in the US. According to the FAA, there were over five thousand reports of unruly passengers by the end of the year. Almost two-thirds of those were mask related incidents. The passenger punched the flight attendant in the back of the head.

There are a lot of these incidents.

The number of such incidents dropped by almost half this year. There have been more than two thousand reports of unruly passengers so far in the year.

Many of the fights were about mask compliance and once the U.S. government dropped the mandate, incidents dropped a lot. Tensions are still high and we just witnessed one of the worst outbursts to-date, when a mother traveling from Alabama to New York via Miami International Airport completely lost it on the gate agent, as well as multiple electrical devices, which she tore out of the agent.

Most of the fights on airplanes that I see are in Europe. There have been a few airplane fights in Asia in the last few weeks, including one on a Thai Smile flight from Thailand to India.

Two men argue with each other and a flight attendant tries to calm them down in the video. One of the men said to the other, "put your hand down" One of the men started hitting the other. His friends are going to join the attack. The other man tried to defend himself. The men are being asked by the co-passengers and cabin crew to stop. A flight attendant tries to break up the fight.

Tensions are getting so high that they are starting to escalate to physical fights, and most of the time it is over trivial things. One fight like this can ruin your trip and cause you to be thrown into jail for a long period of time, so passengers need to keep their cool. When you travel internationally, you are subject to the laws of the country you are in so the punishment may be harsher than in your home country. Travelers can learn a thing or two from the sentence handed down by the Russian court.
