After he and his wife pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the confrontation with protesters, Mark McCloskey sued to get back his guns. The governor pardoned McCloskey and his wife after they pleaded guilty.

He plans to appeal.

During global protests that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, the McCloskeys said they felt threatened by protesters who walked on their private street. They waved guns as they came out of their house.

They were accused of using a weapon and tampering with evidence. Mark McCloskey was ordered to pay a $750 fine after pleading guilty to a fourth- degree assault charge. The woman was sentenced to pay a $2,000 fine for harassment.

The court suspended the law licenses of Mark andPatricia McCloskeys but put them on a year of supervised release. The order allows the couple to practice, but they will be suspended if they break any more laws.

Mark McCloskey was asked by the judge if his actions put people at risk of injury. He said he did his duty. McCloskey said he would do it again if faced with the same situation.

The protesters were found to be peaceful by the special prosecutor.

He said in a news release that there was no evidence that any of them had a weapon.
