Suspect in deaths of Idaho students arrested in Pennsylvania

There is a capital city in the state of Pennsylvania. The suspect in the killings of four University of Idaho students was arrested in Pennsylvania.

A warrant for first degree murder was the reason for the arrest of Bryan Christopher Kohberger.

The arrest was confirmed by a law enforcement official to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity due to the nature of the investigation.

The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University is close to the University of Idaho and has a student by the same name. Messages were left for officials at the school.

The Idaho students were stabbed to death at a rental home near campus in the early morning hours of November 13th. Law enforcement was stumped by the killings, with investigators unable to locate a murder weapon or identify a suspect.

The case broke open after law enforcement asked for the public's help in finding a white sedan that was seen near the home. The Moscow Police Department had to direct tips to an FBI call center because so many people came in after they made the request.

The students who died were members of the university's Greek system. There were three people living in the three-story home. He was going to visit the house that night that he was with Kernodle.

The four people were probably asleep when they were attacked. Some had stab wounds and others had defensive wounds. Police said there was no evidence of sexual assault.

The rental home would be cleared of potential biohazards and other harmful substances on Friday, according to police. The news release stated that the house would be returned to the property manager upon completion.

The killings shook the small town of Moscow, Idaho, a farming community of about 25,000 people and 11,000 students tucked in the rolling hills of the Palouse region.

The case made online sleuths speculate about possible suspects. Police released little information in the early days of the investigation.

Nearly half of the University of Idaho students switched to online classes for the rest of the semester because they were afraid of another attack. The Idaho State Police sent troopers to help patrol the city's streets after the university hired an additional security firm.
