You can get Apple TV Plus for a low price. It started with a limited number of shows, but the offerings have steadily increased, the shows that have ended are very satisfying, and there's a lot of stuff you can binge on there.

Unless Ted Lasso is in the picture, you might have trouble finding other people to watch these shows with. There are many people watching Apple TV Plus. Some of the best shows can be found here. Ted Lasso wasn't on the list because I'm positive you've already seen it.

Apple TV Plus

$7

Apple is gaining popularity with its list of great original programming. You can get three months free with a new Apple device if you sign up for the $6.99/month plan.

Severance

It has been a long time since you first heard of Severance. The show is about people who separate themselves into two different people, one who works and one who never does. It is a satirical look at how much of ourselves we sacrifice for work. The blend of humor, absurdity, and perfectly paced drama makes it feel like the biggest hit Apple has had since Ted Lasso.

For All Mankind

Some of the best episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as the often bizarre but entertaining Outlander, are all from the mind of Ronald D. Moore. The US space program is followed in a world where the Soviets beat America to the moon. The first two seasons had war on the Moon, but the third season had a more prescient storyline about a billionaire trying to get to Mars.

Mythic Quest

This year was the third season of Mythicquest. The show about a bunch of jackasses running a video game company is still one of the most accurate looks at the game industry. The relationships forged in the workplace are examined frequently.

Loot

It shouldn't work because the wife of a tech billionaire learns to use her fortune slowly. It should feel foolish to empathise with the wealthiest people in the world. Even if no one had that much money, Maya Rudolph still gives her just enough humanity that you root for her.

Foundation

Foundation was one of the less interesting sci-fi worlds, and I didn't like it very much. At least three of my co-workers have watched the show and loved it, and Lee Pace is very good as a God clone. It has been renewed for a second season.

Pachinko

Apple's first Korean language drama feels more luxurious than half of what I watch on the internet nowadays. The show deals with the Japanese occupation of Korea during World War II, so it can be difficult to keep an eye on it. Pachinko is a worthwhile investment.

The Essex Serpent

The Essex Serpent is one of the best romantic period dramas on streaming services. The Essex Serpent is similar to Pachinko. The story is about a widow who travels to Essex to find out if a mythical serpent is killing people. Tom Hiddleston plays the very married pastor in the movie. There are longing looks and heated moments

Slow Horses

Do you ever wish a spy caper had a dark sense of humor or more Gary Oldman? Are you going to see the show for me? Slow Horses, which has already been renewed for a third and fourth season, is an entertaining espionage thriller about a bunch of rejected spies trying to get their new jobs done. Oldman is not nice to people.

Dickinson

The three-season comedy about Emily Dickinson started off rocky, but by the second season it had become an intricate portrait of romance, ego, and family. The final season was absolutely stunning as it delicately set up the messed up family dynamics that would lead to Emily's work reaching a wider audience while balancing it with a hopeful story of a woman who is content to let fame pass her by as long as she has love.

See

I know I could suggest other shows to watch, like Servant, about a resurrected baby, or Black Bird, about an inmate trying to get a confession out of an even worse prisoner, but we need to appreciate See, set in a post- apocalyptic North America. It was the first show to launch on Apple TV Plus and it ended this year. When it wanted to be fun, it was really, really fun, even though some of the characters are grating.
