The linguistic landscapes of New York City, St. Louis, Houston, Omaha, and Utah are reflected in local versions. There is a sign language version being worked on.
The majority of the voices are people who recorded themselves. Ijeoma says that the Poetic Justice team built a program that weights languages that are the least recorded so that you hear them more frequently. New recordings change the video over time.
Ijeoma uses his background in information technology to translate cold data into something that feels good. I want to make a portrait of myself. He says that contemporary tools and techniques, such as data analysis and data visualization, are the best way to do it.
