Remembering Pele Getty

Pel, the greatest football player of all time, has died.

The three-time World Cup winner died surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

Pelé had been in and out of medical facilities over the course of a year to help him fight the disease. He spent the last two months in the hospital because of his condition.

In his final days, Pelé was able to watch the World Cup in his home country of Brazil.

After a huge performance for Brazil in the tournament, he wrote an emotional note to the player.

Pel joined Brazil's national team when he was 16 years old, and won the World Cup at 17 years old. In 1962, and 1970, he led Brazil to two more titles.

He's considered to be one of the best goal scorers of all time, and he's even been called the greatest player in football history.

He passed away at the age of 22.

I am sad.
