The New York Yankees are going to get a new pitcher.

Jon Heyman of the MLB Network said that the Yankees and Danes agreed to a minor league deal. Heyman said that he was going to the team's spring training camp.

He was selected in the second round of the MLB draft. He spent three seasons with the White Sox as a relief pitcher.

In his 11 appearances for the White Sox between 2016 and 2018, he had a 4.85 earned run average, 2.31 WHIP and 11 strikeouts. He worked for the organization in the minor league.

He signed a minor league deal with the SeattleMariners. He was released in May of last year after just six appearances and a terrible 21.26 earned run average.

After his release from the Seattle organization, Danes spent time with multiple teams across various independent leagues before finding his way back into MLB's minor league system with the LA Angels in May 2021.

An invitation to spring training was included in the minor league deal that Danes signed in 2022. He made 32 appearances for Boston last season and posted a 5.13 earned run average and 1.29 WHIP.

Out of spring training with the Yankees, Danes will have the chance to make the club's 2023 roster as a relief pitcher. It's not clear how much he'd be used in the relief role.
